8/2/20 – Update

Hello Harvestime Church,

I am looking forward to connecting again this coming Sunday.

With continuing changes in our state regarding Covid-19, we want to keep you informed about our approach to gathering in person. As you may know by now, Gov. Evers has issued an Executive order requiring face masks in public places in the state of Wisconsin. We have sought recommendations from our district lawyers and so we are recommending that you wear a face covering when coming to worship in person at Harvestime Church.

We also understand there are a number of exceptions to this order, and for this reason it is not our intent to monitor each person entering the building. If you are not wearing a mask, it will be our assumption that you have a medical reason for doing so – you will not be questioned and you will be welcomed warmly!

If you do not feel comfortable wearing a mask I would suggest that you join us online at 9:30 or join us for our parking lot service at 11:00.

While we all may have differing stances on this order, our final authority is the Word of God. In Paul’s first letter to Timothy he gives us instructions on worship in chapter two:

“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.”
1 Timothy 2:1-4 (NIV)

With that being said, we will respect the authority over us as we continue to come together, whether in-person or online, and “lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing” (1 Timothy 2:8).

The Chippewa Valley has over 100,000 people and less than 20% of them are connected to a relationship with Jesus. Changing this statistic  will continue to be our focus. Create a watch party as you join us online. Join us this weekend and register for a service.

We look forward to you joining us in person or online this weekend as we look at what it means to be the temple of the Holy Spirit.

Pastor Kim Buckman

6/4/2020 – Update

We are excited to announce that we are opening the campus for services on Sunday as an avenue for people to connect with each other! Indeed, this is good news as we will be able to join together once again, it also can be a difficult time for each person. We want you to feel safe and consider what is best for your family before jumping in the metaphorical swimming pool.

“I was glad when they said to me, ‘Let us go to the house of the Lord.'”
– Psalm 122:1

Harvestime is taking precautions with how we are going to be operating Sundays. All volunteers will be asked to wear masks and to wash handsStaff will also be wearing masks when they are not on the stage. Attendees will not be required to wear masks, but we will have some available for those who wish to have one.

No handshakes, high-fives, or hugs will be offered (air-fives are a-okay with us!) A hand-washing station will be available immediately when entering the building for all. Accompanying our sinks, there will be sanitizer stations scattered around the lobby. Feel free to use it as needed.

Before and between services we will have stationed cleaners to go around the building and sanitize a list of items and areas including but not limited to chairs, bathrooms, doors, windows, etc. There will be a deep clean after the 9:30am service to prepare for the daycare that uses the building during the weekdays.

Currently there will not be coffee, tea, or water available (I know, we are sad, too.) You are more than welcome to bring your own beverage into the building.

We have removed half of the chairs in the sanctuary. Please seek the aid of an usher if you are having trouble locating a place to sit.

Bulletins, connect cards, paper forms, pens and other community items have been removed from the lobby and sanctuary. If you take notes during sermons, please bring your own notebook and pen. If someone needs a Bible please speak with an usher and we will provide one. You can fill out a Connect Card online at htcfamily.org/forms.

When service is completed, we ask you to follow any directions given by staff or volunteers in order to keep traffic regulated. We are also asking everyone to talk outside instead of the building if you are hoping to connect with others after the service. We have to begin prepping for the next service.  Consider going out to eat with others at a local restaurant and supporting our community!

Here are the service times and some information about each:

This may change in the following weeks. Keep updated at htcfamily.org/coronavirus.

Please do not register for a service or come to the building if you have been exposed to someone who may have COVID-19 or if you or a family member in your home is feeling sick.

Need prayer from our fantastic Prayer Team? Request it here!

Thank you for being a part of our HTC Family!

4/8/2020 Update –

At the resurrection, there was celebration because Jesus was walking the earth after dying, but the Friday before there must have been a static energy in the air at the last breath of Jesus on the cross – but he said he would rise again and that gave his people hope! Now we must wait on the hope of the world.

To honor the love and commitment Jesus had for us, we are hosting an special online communion service on April 10th at 7pm on Facebook LIVE for Good Friday. Pastor Kim will lead us through the elements as a church body as well as talk discuss Good Friday events and what it means for us.

On Saturday (4/11), we are asking you to participate in “A Light in the Darkness” event by lighting a lantern, candle, or some type of luminary and placing it at the end of your driveway. We are called to be a light, especially in times of darkness. What a better time to show this light – this hope – than the night before Easter as we await the resurrection of our Savior!

We are fortunate to have Pastor Adam Norlander from the South campus hosting a Sunrise Service on the Harvestime Church – South Facebook page. This will go live at 6:30am on April 12th. Grab your device, head outside, and watch the sunrise as Pastor Adam preaches about how Jesus overcame death, and the hope that we have in him as the Light of the World!

In summary:
April 10th – 7pm Communion Service on Facebook LIVE – Bring elements (juice/drink and bread/food.)
April 11th – Place a light at the end of your driveway for the night.
April 12th – Sunrise Service
April 12th – Easter Sunday! – Jump online (Harvestime South Facebook LIVE) at sunrise for a sermon at 6:30am.
Regular Sunday Service is then on Eau Claire page’s Facebook LIVE at 9am (or YouTube premiere at 10:45am.) (REAL Kids Family Service will be held at 10am on the REAL Kids Facebook page and YouTube.)

Thank you, church family. We are excited to celebrate this exciting time with you!

3/20/2020 Update –

Hello Harvestime,

We are not seeing each other face to face, so we are being creative in our communications.  We have nightly Facebook video posts, many YouTube channel lessons, and, of course, this being our second letter to you.

First things first: God is Good?  As a staff we are trying to the best of our ability to keep current with all the changes that continue to happen around us.  In the midst of this, we can forget this fact: GOD IS GOOD.

The big news is that we are cooperating with the current government guidelines of no groups of ten or more in any one meeting place.  To facilitate this, we are going to go with ONLINE services this weekend (3/22).  We are excited about this as the technology exists for us to still communicate with you.

TO JOIN US ONLINE: Please “like” our Facebook page to receive notifications when we go online.  If you don’t have Facebook, you can go to our YouTube channel or website and watch a recorded version of each service.

Our online service will have a time change for the Eau Claire Campus.  We will be going online Sundays at 10:00am.  Tiempo de Cosechar will also have a message online.

Our team is working diligently to provide continued resources for you and your family throughout this season.  Be following our social media platforms, you will be able to stay up to date on gatherings, resources, and all the information updates. We will be utilizing email as well. We will share more about these resources below.

As we gather online, let’s STAY ENGAGED WITH GENEROSITY.  There may not be services on campus, but our staff is working hard to try and stay connected with each of you.  We support missionaries around the world who are also struggling with what is happening in their countries. Finally, we want to minister to people who are hurting during these times and that will happen because of your generosity.

About 1/3 of our congregation already gives online and you can sign up to do that HERE.  You can also mail a check to Harvestime Church at 3625 Southwind Drive, Eau Claire, WI 54701.  We will make sure that the money goes to the campus you specify when it is mailed.

In this season things may look different, but we are — and always will be — the CHURCH.  Our message is the same as Peter’s in Matthew 16 when Jesus asked His disciples who they thought He was.  Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”  Jesus responded by saying “On this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it (vs 18).”  We, the Church, will continue to move forward under the banner of Jesus Christ!

We’ll see you online this Sunday at 10:00am

Your Pastors,

Kim and Jenny Buckman

3/13/2020 Update

In anticipation of questions regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19) and upcoming events, I felt it was best to communicate our care for all of you through this statement.

We firmly believe in the power of 2 Timothy 1:7, and it’s admonition not to live in a spirit of fear. However, we want to be balanced in our approach to this situation with preventative measures and an abundance of caution.

Currently, all Harvestime services at all the campuses and events will be moving forward as planned, while also being monitored as the situation changes. We would like to encourage you with the following guidelines:

• In lieu of a “handshake welcome,” plan to greet each other in ways that avoid handshaking. Fist bump, smile, and so forth.

• Wash your hands thoroughly. Keep in mind it is recommended to wash your hands for a minimum of 20 seconds, especially after going to the restroom, before eating, and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.

• Use hand sanitizer when it is available.

• If you or individuals in your household are sick, please stay home.

We love you and love seeing you, but as a precaution please don’t risk infecting others if you are sick. Watch service online if you are unable to attend. You can watch live on the church Facebook page, and the videos will be posted on our YouTube channel as well as on htcfamily.org following the services.

We understand that this is causing stress for many given the rapidly changing information. We want you to know that we are monitoring the situation closely, keeping those who are affected in our hearts and prayers, and are proceeding with an abundance of caution, evaluating the situation daily.

During this time, may we be used as the hands and feet of Jesus through our prayers and care for others.

Our General Superintendent, Doug Clay, has given us wonderful guidance in how to pray during this coronavirus outbreak:.

• Pray we will be driven by faith and not fear.• Pray in accordance to Philippians 4:6-7, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

• Pray for the people who have been greatly impacted.

• We believe that God has the power to heal every sickness and every disease. Pray for scientists and researchers as they seek to provide treatments and vaccines.

• Pray for our missionary family and global partners. Pray God’s protection–that they would stay strong, healthy, and effective where God has called them to be.

• Pray for hope, the Blessed Hope of Christ. As we pray for healing, may we not lose sight that our hope is not in a medical breakthrough or in the effective systems of the world. Disasters such as these should remind us of our eternal hope in Christ and awaken us to the need to share His hope with those around us.Sunday we will continue to do what we believe the church is called to do. We will baptize people and share updates concerning our Royal Family Kids Camp which will be in August. Please keep visiting our website or Facebook for any updates.

Thank you for your prayers,

Pastor Kim Buckman
