Good Shepherd

It’s my week to blog. I’ve decided to do something a little different this time. I’m going to share a song that I wrote based on the 23rd Psalm.

The idea of God being our shepherd and us being His sheep has always appealed to me. My name is Rachel Leigh, which means “Little lamb from the meadow”. I had a plaque on my wall growing up that had my name on it, the meaning and this scripture from Isaiah 40:11a “He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will carry the lambs in his arms, holding them close to his heart…”

I have always felt near to the heart of God. As children of God it is so important for us to discover and rediscover who our Father is, learn His character, and seek to know what is the height, depth & width of his never-ending love for us.

Beautiful!! The song, your heart and you-beautiful!
Our little lamb from the meadow! You have grown into a beautiful ewe, caring for your own little lambs and allowing the good shepherd to pick you up, soothe your wounds and lead you in paths of righteousness, beside still waters. It warms my heart to see how He always restores your soul. I love you!

That is a beautiful song. You really have a special gift with music & writing. I am praying for you, especially for tomorrow and in the weeks to come. I am so sorry for the inconveniences & discomfort you will endure. Your faith will be made even stronger but I know the “Count it all joy” part is so hard. I sing on the praise team where your in-laws attend church. A similar thing happened to me exactly 4 years ago so bilateral injuries are no walk in the park. I will pray for God’s supernatural healing, and large doses of patience and His peace that passes all understanding! with love from a Christian sister you’ve never met.
