Mother’s Day 2011 Hebrews 11: 11
1. Abraham Believed God even though his body was as good as dead.
What do we need to have this type of faith?
2. Past experiences are not always good enough.
Psalm 106 tells of all the things God did for Israel.
Vs 13 Yet how quickly they forgot what He had done.
We need a daily supply of the Word of God to have Abraham faith
Genesis 13: 16 I will give you descendants
Genesis 15 whole chapter of promise
Genesis 17: 2 I will guarantee you countless descendants
Genesis 18: 11 Sarah heard the promise from an angel
3. Miracle of the Harvest
Matthew 13: 4 – 9 the seed was given, but the ground had to be prepared.
a. Rocks stop depth
b. Anxiety and worries
1 Peter 5: 7 Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about what happens to you.
4. Seed Dies
When you have done everything you can do and you still don’t see a harvest
John 12: 24 Tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.
Only in the death of a vision can it be reborn and produce the harvest God wants.
5. God will break forth the vision
2 Samuel 5: 17 – 19 David spent his whole life fighting Philistines, but he sought God for wisdom in this battle.
Vs 20 The Lord did it. He burst through my enemies like a raging flood. and David called it Baal Perazim because God burst through like a flood.
Pulled every rock
Cast every thorn on God
Waiting and watching your seed die
Another 11: 11 in John Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I am going there to wake him up
