There is always a point where we are between believing God to answer your prayer and the time that the answer comes.

  1. Taking up the Yoke

Matthew 11: 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

  • Yoke means go to school, time to learn something
  • Teachers used this term for leisure, but Jesus used it for refreshment
  • Yoke means for a season
  • Gentle and humble were looked down upon in their culture
  1. Where are we going

Hebrews 13: 13, 14 Let us, then, go to him outside the camp, bearing the disgrace he bore. 14 For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come

Disgrace = feeling of shame we have in the presence of others because of ones condition

  1. Disgrace comes through words of others (Job 12: 4, 5)

  2. Comes through silent looks (Proverbs 13: 12)

  3. Comes through our own imagination (Joshua 5: 9)

  1. Why call us to a path of disgrace

I don’t know but the reality of it is that it happens

  1. David Psalm 69: 7

  2. Paul 2 Timothy 1: 16

  3. Moses Hebrews 11: 24 – 26

  1. Clues how to act during times of disgrace

Moses chose to suffer disgrace with the people of God. Hebrews 11: 25

Called to be happy during them. 1 Peter 4: 14

Hebrews 13: 13 – 15 Let us, then, go to him outside the camp, bearing the disgrace he bore. 14 For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come. 15 Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise–the fruit of lips that confess his name
