Last week we talked about the necessity of a vision for without a vision people perish.
- Vision is a divine communication
- Jesus promised we would see this communication before we die.
- The enemies plan is to intimidate us and bring fear which will make it easier for us to bedefeated
- We need this divine communication so we can encourage those around us.!
1. Glory arises on us.
Doesn’t fall or suddenly overwhelm us like an invisible smoke that fills the atmosphere. We get this idea from the Old Testament when the presence of God was so real the people could not even move. We forget that we are this new temple
Look at how Jesus manifested himself to his disciples.
Luke 9: 28 Jesus took his disciples up on the mountain to pray
Jesus prayed and he was changed.
Vs 32 the disciples were sleeping because of so little expectation of anything happening when we pray.
Backslidden slumber. Jesus explained how he was on his way to Jerusalem to die and they were not ready for the life changing events that were soon to happen.
Bible warns against this so much in the stories of the 10 virgins and they all fell asleep. He also talks about a lukewarmness in the Laodicean church, and losing their first love in the church of Ephesus.
2. What signs show this manifestation?!
We need a manifestation of the kingdom of God to battle the manifestation of hell that is going on all around us.
a) Conviction of sin.
Revelation 6: 15, 16 They hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; and said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sits on the throne.
Believers? Isaiah 6: 5 Woe is me for I am a man of unclean lips, and i dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips.!
Aren’t I clean before him and my sin forgiven?
John 14: 21Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.
Always a greater manifestation of who God is.
Hills melt like wax at the presence of the Lord. Psalm 97: 5
Addictions like mountains will melt at a manifestation of Jesus.
b) Sharing God’s burden.
Acts 22: 10 I asked “What should I do Lord? and the Lord told me, Get up and go into Damascus, and there you will be told everything you are to do.
Acting on the knowledge of Jesus without hesitation.
Isaiah after revelation “Who can I send”? Here am I send me.
Yoke is easy burden is light. Obedience to what God has.
2 Chronicles 16: 9 The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.
EXAMPLE change needed disciples build three tabernacles, because feast of tabernacles and this is what they knew to do. No we are doing something new now.
c) Incredible joy.
Acts 2: 28 “You have shown me the way of life and you will fill me with the joy of your presence.”
