David Wilkerson’s book “The Vision” was written in 1972 but many of the things that were prophesied then are happening today.
These things have always been predicted haven’t they?
2. Spirit of Fear
2 Timothy 1: 7 God hath not given us the spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind
God is not caught off guard by what is happening. He has a desire to do a great work in our day
We are called to live in the spiritual realm not the physical If we are caught up with what is happening around us, we will never be able to discern what God is doing in our midst.
2 Corinthians 5: 6 – 9 Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. 7 We live by faith, not by sight. 8 We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. 9 So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it.
3. Living in the Spirit
The disciples had to be filled with the Spirit to be able to live differently
Acts 1: 4, 5 In a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.
Vs 8 You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you will be my witnesses telling about me everywhere.
4. What is the power that Jesus is talking about?
- Power for a harvest Zechariah 10: 1
- Power to Pray Zechariah 12: 10
- Power to separate from world as we look on the one we have pierced Vs 10
- Power to repent
Acts 2: 25 I see that the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken for he is right beside me. No wonder my heart is glad and my tongue shouts his praises My body rests in hope.
Results:
- Not shaken
- Heart is glad
- Tongue shouts praises
- Body rests in hope
5. God wants to pour out His Spirit
We must know that we have not sinned away our day of grace.
Isaiah 50: 1, 2 God has not written us a certificate of divorce, we have left Him because of our sin.
Joel 2: 27 – 29 I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams and your young men will see visions. In those days, I will pour out my Spirit even on servants—men and women alike.
