The Sermon on the Mount pushes forward and the next topic that Jesus talks about is what rewards we should expect. It is a metric of what happens when we are following the early [part of the sermon. If we are pursuing Jesus in our giving, prayer and fasting, we will be pursuing the heavenly kingdom and not laying up treasures here on earth.
